KCC-The Fund of Disaster Recovery Project
Official Report vol.2
Date: 24th of April, 2011
Reported by Rev. Isaiah Fujibayashi,
Senior Pastor of Kyoto Chuo Chapel
Translated by Bro. Yasuaki Kuromiya,
A Member of Our Church
<Activity Report>
From 1 - 7 April, I went to Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, and was able to form a tie with an NPO, the Miyagi Fukko Shien Center (lit. translation: Miyagi Relief Effort Center).
White shirt person is the president of Miyagi Fukko Shien Center, whose name is Hideki Mogi.
Inside of Fukko Shien Center is below.
They have agreed to provide bed and board to the volunteers from the Kyoto Chuo Chapel.
The person of center is the Congressman of Sendai city, whose name is Hirofumi Nishizawa. He committed us that he would fully support our volunteers in this center.
So we are now ready to send as many volunteers as there are available.
Even if you don't speak Japanese, the Fukko Shien Center runs a college specializing in foreign languages, so there should be little or no difficulty in communicating with the staff or the victims. I also contacted the mayor of Higashi Matsushima City, a city councilor, and a member of prefectural assembly, who have agreed to post their calls for relief on our website. Here's the first message from the devastated area:

<Schedule for Next Week>
From 25 - 28 April, we will visit Sendai, Miyagi Pref, on our second KCC-FDRP mission. We are bringing 4 vehicles with us because in the aftermath of the huge tsunami, which washed away 410,000 automobiles, there has been a sharp rise in the prices of used cars in the northeastern Japan and they are very difficult to come by: one Mazda Bongo (1-ton delivery van) to be given to the Religious Corporation Iesu Kirisuto Fukuin no Mure, Tohoku Chuo Kyokai (lit. translation: Tohoku Central Church of the Religious Corporation Jesus Christ Gospel Flock),
two ultra light trucks to be given to Rel. Corp. Japan Assemblies of God Izumi Fukuin Chaperu (lit. translation: Izumi Gospel church)
and to Rel. Corp. Japan Baptist Rifu Kirisuto Kyokai (lit. translation: Rifu Christ's Church).
The last is a 4-ton truck to be given to the Miyagi Fukko Shien Center.

All of the 4 cars are going to be used to deliver relief to the victims in the devastated areas.
<Two Macedonian Calls in Northeastern Japan>
Volunteer!
About 100,000 volunteers are needed in the Northeastern Japan within a year. Take a week off and join us. I strongly urge all the Christians in Japan to give one week to work as a volunteer in the tsunami devastated areas this year.
If you live outside Japan and speak no Japanese, you can come to help us. We have speakers of several different languages at the Miyagi Fukko Shien Center (NPO). Just send us an email at admin@chuochapel.com. Please include the following information:
(1)Title of email should be 'Volunteer applicant.' (2) your full name (3) sex (4) age (5) work/school (6) religion (7) how long you can stay (8) whether or not you have an international driving license or another license (9) particular interest if any
Especially to overseas volunteers
Come to Japan with a vision as a missionary. There are a number of young Japanese people and students, whom you can spread the Christ's gospel through your love of Lord. Having said this, however, I should give you a word of warning: you will be here to join the relief party first and foremost. Your dedication to relief mission is your testimony as Christian, so to say 'Living Christ.' You should never try to speak about your faith to people around you during the day. You will have plenty of time to discuss it in the evening. Speak to them at supper and invite them to Sunday services. We will introduce you to the churches in the area where you can observe your Sunday worship.
How to get there
When you notify us of your intention to join us, we will give you more detailed directions to get to the Miyagi Fukko Shien Center. But please be prepared to get there on your own. Once you get there, we will refer you to the place/organization where your service will be most needed.
The address of the Fukko Shien Center is:
246-3 Teppo cho, Miyagino ku, Sendai shi, Miyagi ken, Postal Code 983-0861, Japan.
At the end of your mission
You are requested to write a report to the Kyoto Chuo Chapel reviewing what you did, where and when as well as what you think can be improved.
Please donate!
In order to bring relief goods to the Miyagi Fukko Shien Center and supply what the victims need, we cannot have enough money. We also need money to support the needs of the volunteers. Please give as much as you can.
Our bank account is:
Bank Name: The Bank of Kyoto, Ltd. Shimogamo-Branch
Swift Number(Bank Code): BOKFJPJZ
Branch Code: 142 Ordinary Account
Account Number: 10980
Account Holder's Name: Izaya Fujibayashi, Representative of Kyoto Central Chapel, Religious Corporation Kyoto Gospel Church

Thank you again.
May God bless you and your church!
